Neoregelia
Neoregelia is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Bromeliaceae, subfamily Bromelioideae. It is native to tropical America. It comprises 133 described species and of these, only 115 accepted.
They are plants with broad leaves. The inflorescences form in a depression in the center of the plant that forms a receptacle to collect water. The leaves surrounding the inflorescences are very bright and coloured. Neoregelia species are grown as an ornamental plant for their colourful foliage.
